Let's face it. Everyone gets angry. Anger is a normal emotion. However, when our anger gets out of control, we end up hurting people we care about, destroying property that may or may not belong to us, and more often than not, we engage in self-destructive behaviors. For many people, these behaviors may lead to arrest and/or the need for treatment.
I am a Certified Anger Management Specialist II and am a member of the National Anger Management Association (NAMA). The curriculum used in this course is evidence based and approved by NAMA. Whether you are being mandated to anger management classes or you have decided for yourself that it would be useful to gain skills to manage your anger in a healthier manner, participation in this 12 week course will offer you a new approach to handling your anger response.
By the end of the 12 weeks you will:
learn how to recognize and measure your anger
understand the physical connection between your brain, body and emotional state
practice concrete techniques to de-escalate yourself when triggered
Individual sessions are available in the office and via Telehealth. Classes are held in the office. All information is private and confidential and Telehealth sessions are conducted through a secure online client portal that meets HIPAA regulations.
